Undeceived by Karen M. Cox ~ Review + Giveaway

Book Blurb: “...if I endeavor to undeceive people as to the rest of his conduct, who will believe me?”
-Pride & Prejudice/, Chapter 40
Elizabeth Bennet, a rookie counterintelligence officer, lands an exciting first assignment—investigating the CIA's legendary William Darcy, who is suspected of being a double agent.

Darcy’s charmed existence is seemingly at an end as he fights for his career and struggles against his feelings for the young woman he doesn’t know is watching his every move.

At first, Elizabeth was confident in her mission's outcome, but the more she discovers about Darcy, the more she finds herself in an ever-tightening web of danger.

Unexpected twists and turns abound in this Cold War era variation on Austen’s classic tale.

My Review:  This novel is Pride and Prejudice set during the 1980s with spies. I reviewed this book when it was first released and I remember enjoying it a lot. So when I heard it was being re-released I knew it was time for a re-read. The version I just currently read is the planned re-release. I want to say that it just as good as I remember and I believe that there were some additional scenes or I just plain old forgot some. I want to take a second and gush about the new cover. I liked the original but I love this one. Someday I will have the paperback of this version in my collection.

I really do recommend reading this book if you love Pride and Prejudice and spies. If you would like to read my original review you can read it here

*I received an advanced copy of the book by the author. All opinions are my own.

  1. This book sounds wonderful and we all know that Karen Cox is a first-rate author. I'd love a hard copy of "Undeceived" to add to my "favorites" library.

  2. This comment has been removed by the author.

  3. Thank you for the lovely review, Tina. And I'm glad you love the new cover - I really like it too :) Good luck to everyone entering the giveaway!

  4. I loved this story when it was on KU! I do miss it on Kindle and wish I'd bought it (and 1932) before. The twist with a certain male character shocked me but that's what made it so unique. If only we all had a Darcy to comfort us...

  5. I would love to win this new edition of Undeceived in physical copy. I already have the earlier novel in e-book so I'm wondering are they any new scenes added, mistakes corrected, etc. Thank you for the generous giveaway, Karen.

  6. Karen is a new author for me. This book sounds very good. So does many of her other books. I love historical books. Definitely following her on Goodreads. I would enjoy a hard copy version of this book or really any of these books: Son of a Preacher Man, I Could Write a Book & 1932. Thanks for the opportunity & for spotlighting a great writer.
