REVIEW: Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Book Blurb: The dream chooses the dreamer, not the other way around - and Lazlo Strange, war orphan and junior librarian, has always feared that his dream chose poorly. Since he was five years old he's been obsessed with the mythic lost city of Weep, but it would take someone bolder than he to cross half the world in search of it. Then a stunning opportunity presents itself, in the person of a hero called the Godslayer and a band of legendary warriors, and he has to seize his chance to lose his dream forever.

What happened in Weep two hundred years ago to cut it off from the rest of the world? What exactly did the Godslayer slay that went by the name of god? And what is the mysterious problem he now seeks help in solving?

The answers await in Weep, but so do more mysteries - including the blue-skinned goddess who appears in Lazlo's dreams. How did he dream her before he knew she existed? And if all the gods are dead, why does she seem so real?

My Review: I had been hearing about this book all over the internet and booktube but I didn't pick it up until last week. I will admit I actually did put it down at one point and I didn't know if I would even come back to it because the book felt slow to me. But I'm glad I did start reading it again although it didn't pick up for me until about sixty percent into the book. I have to say I enjoyed most of the characters in this book except for one. I want to kill Minya with a fiery passion right now. There is a love triangle in this book that I didn't see coming but I don't even know if you can call it a triangle at all.

Sarai and Lazlo are now one of my new favorite couples in literature, if not my most favorite and why did you do that Laini Taylor why? I can't even deal right now. I need Muse of Nightmares in my hand right now to know that everything is going to be alright with my babies. This book destroyed me and I need Muse of Nightmares. I can't wait until October to find out what happens.
